About our guest: Orestes in 2022, entered his 12th season as part of the Rays Award-winning, Fox Sports Florida broadcast. And his 20th year in TV+Radio Broadcasting.  Co-hosting the popular Rays Live Pre and Post Show(s). As well as, appearing during select home games, as an in-game sideline color analyst and certain Rays Spanish broadcasts. Orestes is also, in the Tampa Bay Rays front office as, Director of Baseball/Community Outreach. Representing and appearing in many capacities and events as a Rays Org Ambassador.

In August of 2018, Orestes was Honored at MetLife Stadium by his former Japan NPB Team, the Seibu Lions, as one of only 4 All-Time Greats of the Lions.

He was the only Gaijin/Foreigner of the 4 Players Honored during the Lions season-long 40th Club Anniversary Celebration.

In Dec 2017, Orestes and his Fox crew won a Regional Sports Emmy Award for the Rays, in-game production called, “Demo-Day”. In which, Orestes played a key role in creating and appearing in.

Born in Cuba and raised in Miami since he was 6 years old, Orestes Destrade played 1B/OF/DH for 15 pro seasons including, in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Florida Marlins.
